Crysis

After searching lots of pages and finding dozens of video "walkthroughs" for Crysis I am sadly disappointed in the quality of information available.

I am going to put up a link to the IGN walkthrough for Crysis here. In true IGN fashion it is difficult to navigate and the information is largely superficial. However at least it has some information which is much better than you will find on the other hundreds (yes I did review hundreds) of sites out there.

I am sorry, but such a fun game deseves much, much better. Please somebody find the time to put together some good information. The public wants and needs it!

The Sims 2

You can find good walkthroughs for The Sims 2 as well as a lot of general information about the game over at IGN.

I'm not a huge fan of IGN. In particular I don't necessarily agree with the reviews that they provide, but they do tend to collect reasonable walkthroughs and cheat information for games that have been out for a few years.

If you are looking to post original information for The Sims 2, then by all means go ahead. There really isn't a whole lot of competition out there for it. Although there are quite a few sites already with game anecdotes and screen shots etc.

Men Of War

Well, after considerable time looking through dozens of useless sites I have come to the conclusion that Men of War is simply not popular enough to rate a decent walkthrough. So, if you happen to be a fan of the game and want to help out other fans, then I suggest you put togethere a website dedicated to Men of War.

All I managed to turn up was a site with a couple of mods you can download. I'll link to it here. For completeness sake I put up the link, but I DO NOT recommend that you download and install the mods. They could by spyware or malware or who knows what. If you do know of a better site, please link it.

Grand Theft Auto 4

Okay this one is pretty easy. The best walkthrough for GTA 4 is at mahalo.com. The guide is fairly long and in fairly in depth. There are tons of sites out there for Grand Theft Auto 4, so the same information can be had at other places as well.

As for cheats, I'm going to go with grand-theft-auto-cheats again. The page is concise and to the point, which makes it pretty nice. As far as cheats for the GTA series I personally don't think that they can be beat.

IGN also has a good listing for GTA 4 which you may want to check out. As always I have to warn you that the information on IGN may be incomplete or inaccurate, though the majority of it is usually pretty good. I guess I just have a personal bias.

Left For Dead

For the most complete compilation of information and cheats for Left For Dead, I recommend that you hop on over to mahalo.

You will find not only some excellent information but also a healthy collection of links to other sites with additional information about the game including links to additional cheats and bug exploits.

Save yourself the trouble of going to IGN, gamespot, gamefaq etc. Although they do have some good information, the link descriptions at mahalo will let you know if it is truly worth your trouble to go to the other sites and deal with the popups.

Grand Theft Auto

Okay, there is just one stop if you are looking for cheats related to Grand Theft Auto. Grand-theft-auto.com.

They have information relating to all of the GTA series, which is nice so if you are a fan of the series you don't really have to go spending a lot of time searching the internet. On the other hand they do not appear to have any walkthrough information, just cheat codes.

In fact, if you are looking for a good walkthrough you are going to have a hard time of it. Over at planet grand theft auto, however there are some downloadable guides. As with any download, you do it at your own risk, so be careful.

My searching wasn't able to turn up a good html only site that had a good walkthrough. Sorry about that.

The Last Remnant

Well there are a number of walkthroughs available for The Last Remnant. It is a highly popular game, and naturally there are a number of sites out there that have pertinent information.

I am going to go with GameFAQs walkthrough this time, or better said their group of walkthroughs. I'll have to watch this one closely however. There will certainly be better sites developed in the coming months, but that isn't to say that you can't get the information you are after (assuming you just want to look at the text files).

If you are looking for a nice html walkthrough or something fancy then you will just have to wait.

There are a few sites out there offering cheats and bug/design exploits for The Last Remnant, but I can't in good conscience send you to them because they are full of popups and ambiguous/unreliable information.

Baldur's Gate

There are again a number of sites about Baldur's Gate. But if you are looking for walkthrough information then I would suggest stopping off first at sorcerer's place.

They have compiled a very good list of links that direct you to exactly the information you are looking for.

If you are looking for some quick cheats and or exploits, then there is a good list here.

Probably no point poking around the net looking for anything else related to Baldur's gate as these will give you essentially all of the information that you are looking for, or at least they should. If you need anything more in depth then you should probably be the one writing the walkthrough.

World Of Warcraft

Okay, at the time of this writing google says that there are 257 million web sites about world of warcraft. To put it bluntly you will have a lot of digging to do to find the "best" game sites out there for WOW.

I would recommend, however, starting over at tault.com. This isn't to say that they are the best, particularly if you are looking for a specific strategy for a specific build, but they are a very good start.

There are just so many good sites out there for specific characters that it would be futile for me to attempt to compile a list here.

A word of caution. There are also about a billion pointless blogs managed by various individuals and guilds, all of which won't really give you much in terms of game information. Essentially they are logs of what those people have done with the game and are not designed with a newbie's interests.

Fallout 3

Okay, there are quite a few options for finding information about Fallout 3. A lot of it is pretty good. Some of it isn't quite as good as others.

This is another one where you can pretty much skip IGN andn Gamespot. There are enough fans out there with solid info that you're better off going elsewhere.

Over at mahalo.com they have compiled a pretty good walkthrough. This is where I would start. Without going out and buying the user guide it is probably the best information since they include stuff about character creation as well as a guide to the quests.

A second source would be Carls Guides. The page is a bit more organized, but not necessarily any better as far as the information goes.

IGN has a concise list of cheat codes which may be useful if you are into that.

World of Goo

World of Goo offers some unique challenges in terms of gameplay.

You can find a nice video walkthrough at the World of Goo Blog. Beware it isn't the most organized of blogs on the planet, but the information is there. There is also some info regarding hacks and so forth, but it is a bit hunt and peck to sort out the non-video stuff, which are organized in neat links in the sidebar.

Unfortunately there just aren't a lot of good World of Goo sites out there at the moment, which means that if you are in the business of making cheat/walkthrough sites, and you happen to like World of Goo, then you are in luck. This is a great opportunity to get yourself a popular site.

There isn't anything over at IGN either, or Gamespot, so you can forego all the usual suspects.

Starcraft

Surprisingly enough, finding a good guide to Starcraft isn't as easy as it should be. The game is still pretty popular, and there are certainly enough people out there with resources to publish.

You can find a starcraft walkthrough here. It isn't necessarily perfect, but it is far better than nothing.

You can find a cheat code list here.

Again, neither site is what I would call super impressive, but you will get access to information about Starcraft from both. Anyone looking to build a website that will get traffic should just make a better Starcraft site than either of these as there really isn't a ton of competition out there for it.

Anno 1602 or 1602 AD

Anno 1602 is a charming little game that is a lot of fun for you history buffs. Others may find it a bit less exciting. I have enjoyed playing it extensively, however, and I am sure that many more of you will as well.

If you are looking for the best information about Anno 1602, then I will suggest the guides over at Capsu.

Much of what they have over there is geared to the European versions, though to be perfectly honest I don't know that there is much of a difference if any between the versions sold in the U.S.

For some reason this game doesn't appear to have done as well in the U.S. as it did abroad even though it really is a fun game to play.

Dungeon Siege

Okay, if you are looking for basic cheats for Dungeon Siege, then you have two options, both with essentially the same information.

1 - you can go to dungeonsiegecheats.blogspot.com and check out the blog there. It has information about the various cheat codes that can be applied together with their general effectiveness in the game.

2 - you gan go to the IGN website. Of course over at IGN you will have to deal with the popups and popunders, but hey nothing in life is free.

Now, if you are looking for more a more in-depth walkthrough, then you will want to planet dungeon siege and find a very nice in-depth walkthrough. There are also other walkthroughs available over at IGN, but really there is no need to go that far.

I may be biased because it is a blog, but you can find everything you need over at the dungeon siege cheats blogger blog. No real need to go anywhere else, especially as they also have the links to the walkthroughs posted.

Warcraft 3

Okay, finding a good walkthrough for Warcraft 3 isn't as difficult as for some other games out there. But you can go ahead and skip the gamespot and IGN sites. The stupid popups are pretty annoying to deal with and just head on over to Infoceptor's Warcraft 3 walkthrough.

It is divided into section by mission and includes a rating system of how difficult they calculate each mission to be. So for playing through in single player mode it is easily the best guide around.

The most comprehensive cheat list is over at IGN. There are some other partial lists around on the net, but there is no real need to get out there and do a bunch of looking. I can't say that I really favor IGN, but when it comes to straight cheat code lists they often do have the easiest access.

Animal Crossing Wild World

The site with the best information for animal crossing has to go to the Animal Crossing Community.

There are a lot of sites out there, and be warned that not all of it is entirely accurate. Some of the info in the guides on IGN is partially inaccurate, so be a bit careful about it. Unfortunately there isn't a really excellent dedicated site for Animal Crossing Wild World. The Animal Crossing Community does all of the various iterations of Animal Crossing, including Animal Crossing Citifolk.

The really nice thing is that they have a database of items which makes it fairly easy to figure out what you need in order to complete themes and sets, which makes it very nice.

As far as walkthroughs and so forth, however, I would recommend that you stop over at IGN where there are a variety of different options available. But once again all of the information there isn't 100%, particularly information regarding items.

Fallout 2

Fallout 2 is one of those extremely long and in-depth games that can be replayed over and over again in order to get the full value out of it. So, where do you go to get all of the information?

There is one single best fallout 2 site on the internet, which if you haven't found yet really does deserve another link to it. The Nearly Ultimate User Guide is easily the best fallout 2 walkthrough ever compiled.

It includes notes regarding changes from the official patch as well as information about what happens both without and without the children active so that you can understand some of the oddities that appear in different versions of the game.

A word of warning, there are a ton of fallout 2 spoilers on the site, as in everything in the game is pretty much revealed, up to and including the location of just about every rock in the game.
